In a year in which amateur sport suffers greatly from the pandemic, the Oliveira do Hospital municipality did not want to fail to distinguish the county's sports agents. In fact, he did precisely the opposite, in understanding to recognize all those who contribute to sports.
The molds of the 7th Oliveira do Hospital Sports Gala were presented yesterday at a press conference.
Sports councilor Nuno Ribeiro explained that “in this particularly difficult year, when most competitions were canceled, it is not possible to have the usual prize categories that have been delivered”. However, the municipality understood that "it should recognize the work of all clubs and associations in the municipality to be able to survive, resist and maintain the sporting dynamics in these times of difficulty".
In this sense, this is a “gala to recognize the associative movement of the municipality, wishing better times to come” and affirming that “they count on the municipality to continue treading this path”.
João Paulo Rebelo, Secretary of State for Sport and Youth also participated, through a video message. He spoke of a “terrible year with a great impact on all sectors of society, but above all on our children and young people. That is why it is so important to recognize those who have been able to adapt to maintain some interest from young people in sports ”. The government official was therefore “very grateful to a municipality that is a friend of sport and has these good practices”.
