The 2020/21 edition of II Football League will start with the meeting between Estoril Praia and the recently promoted Arouca, on September 10, today announced the Club League.
Last season, the competition was suspended in the first half of March and was concluded at the end of April, when there were 10 rounds to go, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus.
The first round will then start on the 10th of this month, a Thursday, with the 'canarinhos' receiving at the António Coimbra da Mota Stadium, at 8:00 pm, the Arouquense team, which guaranteed the ascent to the II League, together with Vizela, the two teams with the most points in the third step, following the cancellation of the championships due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The round continues on Friday, the 11th, at the same time, with the reception of Feirense ao Desportivo de Chaves, continuing on Saturday with the Academic meetings of Viseu-Academic (11:00) and Vizela-Oliveirense (17:00).
On Sunday, the 13th, Cova da Piedade receives Mafra, from 11:15 am, Leixões is the host of Casa Pia, at 4:00 pm, Benfica B also plays at home with Vilafranquense, at 6:00 pm , and about half an hour later FC Porto B travels to Varzim.
Cova da Piedade and Casa Pia had been relegated to the Portuguese Championship, but were invited by the League to present their candidacy to professional competitions after Vitória de Setúbal and Desportivo das Aves failed to fulfill the registration criteria.
On the 14th, the challenge between Penafiel and Sporting da Covilhã ends the first round at 19:45.
The second round starts on September 18 and runs until the 20th, the third will take place during the week, between 22 and 24, and the fourth starts two days later to end on 29, a Tuesday.
The fifth round is played on the first weekend of October, between the 2nd and the 4th.
