The understanding of the various sports federations was that there were conditions for holding sports competitions over the weekend, but this afternoon, the Government put a brake on (almost) everything. Amateur competitions will not be able to take place.
The official announcement by the Government has not yet been made, but there have been several announcements in this regard, such as the Coimbra Football Association, which cancels the district competitions for the weekend.
After a meeting, this afternoon, between the main sports federations and the Secretary of State for Sport, some exceptions were decided, but there is still a lack of agreement from the Directorate-General for Health and only later will they be made official.
Read the statement from the Coimbra Football Association:
The sports competitions scheduled by the Football Association of Coimbra for the weekend of October 31 and November 1, 2020, will stop by decision of the Council of Ministers, held today, which decreed the cancellation of the matches of the amateur competitions. Thus, the days of the district championships, the first division, the honor and the under-21s, are not held.
The Football Association of Coimbra remains attentive and in contact with governmental and health entities to inform clubs and supporters in due time about the next steps to take.
