It is not yet this weekend that the emotions of district football and futsal competitions return.
The evolution of the situation of covid-19 forced the Football Association of Coimbra (AFC) to suspend the holding of senior district football and futsal competitions scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
The decision is based on Decree Law No. 2-A / 2021, of the Council of Ministers, approved on Thursday, and which, among other measures, decided: “to extend to the municipalities at high risk the ban on driving on public roads from 1 pm on the weekend of 9 and 10 January "and" apply the prohibition of movement between municipalities between 11 pm on 8 January and 5 am on 11 January 2021 to the entire continental national territory, except for reasons of health, imperative urgency or other specifically foreseen ”.
"Analyzing the Decree-Law of the Council of Ministers, which prohibits circulation between municipalities, there will be no games on Saturday and Sunday", assumed the DIÁRIO AS BEIRAS the president of the Football Association of Coimbra (AFC), Horácio Antunes.
"All competitions organized by the AFC for this weekend are suspended", said the leader.
It should be remembered that this weekend football matches were scheduled for the AFC Honor Division, the 1st AFC Division and the U21 District Trophy. Sunday would be marked by the inaugural round of futsal competitions overseen by the AFC, the Men's Honor Division and the Women's Honor Division.
The suspension of the games was communicated by the AFC to the clubs through a statement.
