“Along the National Road 2 towards Tokyo” was the motto for the 715.9 kilometers traveled, between Wednesday and yesterday, by Maria Martins, a cyclist who has already guaranteed the first Portuguese participation in track cycling at the Olympic Games, and Raquel Queirós , which is close to guaranteeing the Olympic debut of women's mountain biking in Tokyo.
In the third “stage” of this odyssey, Maria and Raquel had the help of Sónia Santos and Sofia Gomes.
“It was an invitation from the Beira Litoral Cycling Association and it was a spectacular opportunity, because, with the pandemic, we were all discouraged. It served a little to motivate us, being a stimulus for us to be with the Olympic athletes ”, admitted to DIÁRIO AS BEIRAS, Sónia Santos.
