Olivais Coimbra won the Women's Basketball Super Cup yesterday for the fourth time, beating Vitória de Guimarães 55-39, in a match played at the Tondela Municipal Sports Pavilion.
Artemis Afonso, with two points, by hitting the only attempt attempted, and 10 rebounds, was voted the 'Most Valuable Player' (MVP) of the meeting.
Ana Rodrigues, with 14 points, and Lana Dusanic and Ana Radovic, both with 11, led the Olivais team punctually, while Catarina Mateus was the best scorer of the minhoto group, with 17 points.
The match started with some anxiety, with just eight points scored in the first five minutes, already with the advantage of Olivais, who increased it to six at the end of the first period (18-12).
In the second quarter, the Coimbra ensemble, led by Ana Rodrigues, remained on top, but the Vimaranenses remained close (30-25), much due to Bárbara Miranda's action.
After the break, both teams bet on a more collective game, with Olivais outperforming and fleeing the marker to close the third period 10 points higher (41-31), with Lana Dusanic standing out.
In the fourth period, and with a clear advantage, Eugénio Rodrigues 'five', with Artemis Afonso in evidence, managed to control the result, to win by 16 points.
