The district session of the Youth Parliament program, which had been suspended in March 2020 due to the pandemic, is already scheduled, the Assembly of the Republic announced.
All sessions that were not possible at the time, totaling 20, will now be held by videoconference.
Secondary education sessions take place on March 9th, 16th and 23rd, and basic education sessions on April 12th, 19th and 26th, all of them with the participation of a deputy from the Assembly of the Republic.
On Tuesday, 9, the secondary education sessions will take place, including the one in the district of Faro (9:30 am), which will include the participation of Cristóvão Norte (PSD), deputy elected by the Algarve.
These sessions provide young people elected in schools with the experience of a parliamentary session, with a debate methodology similar to that of the parliament.
The "deputies" to the national sessions will be elected
After the first phase of the project, which culminated in school sessions, young people will now debate and approve the draft recommendation for each circle and elect the “deputies” to the national sessions, which will take place in the Assembly of the Republic, on 31 May and 1 June, in the case of basic education, and 14 and 15 June, in the case of secondary education.
«Domestic and Dating Violence» was the theme launched by the Assembly of the Republic, on the proposal of young people.
