Dona Filipa hotel workers meet strike day - Diario diariOnline Região Sul

Workers at the Dona Filipa hotel in Vale do Lobo, Loulé, are meeting a strike today to demand that management sit down to negotiate proposals submitted in January.

According to the Hotelaria do Algarve Trade Union, among the proposals is the demand for a salary increase of 8%, with a minimum of 70 euros, in order "to restore part of the purchasing power lost in recent years", and replenishment of the payment of holidays with an increase of 200% and 25 working days of vacation.

A union delegation met this morning with representatives of the hotel administration, with a commitment to reconvene until the end of next week.

In a statement, the union salutes workers "who have lost their fear and joined the strike" and appeals to other employees "to join them to strengthen unity and the demand for better wages and working conditions and dignified lives."
