The world elite of downhill (DHI) already rides on the slopes of Serra da Lousã.
The track, in the heart of the Louzanpark, which in 2018 hosted the European Championship of the discipline, receives, until Sunday, the exciting double journey that will define the champions of the Downhill World Cup 2020.
The organization of the International Cyclist Union (UCI) has the local support of Montanha Clube – BTT Downhill, of the Municipality of Lousã (CML), Turismo Centro de Portugal and União Velocipédica Portuguesa – Portuguese Cycling Federation (UVP / FPC) .
Initially scheduled for March 21 and 22, the event that would mark the opening of the 2020 World Cup was postponed due to the covid-19. Until Sunday, despite the fact that the public is not allowed, the adrenaline in Serra da Lousã is at a high level, with the DHI world elite discussing a decisive double journey in the final accounts of the World Cup, a competition played for the first time in Portugal.
