EDIA increases capital by 16.8 million euros to pay debt service – Jornal Económico


EDIA – Alqueva Development and Infrastructure Company received a new capital increase from the state shareholder.

According to a statement sent by the company responsible for the Alqueva irrigation project to the CMVM – Securities Market Commission, on September 3, “it was approved by unanimous written decision to increase the share capital of EDIA – Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infrastructures of Alqueva, SA, in the amount of 16,775,440 euros (…).

This capital increase of EDIA took place through the issuance of 3,355,088 nominative shares, worth five euros each, to be subscribed and to be held by the State, in cash (…) ”.

Also according to this statement from the company led by José Pedro Salema, this latest capital increase will serve to “service debt”, ie to pay interest on debt incurred by EDIA to finance the strong investment in the Alqueva project. .
