The “Open Books” section is back at the Municipal Library Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, in Loulé, on the 25th of November, at 7:30 pm, with the presentation of “Eliete”, by Dulce Maria Cardoso. Sandra Boto, professor and assistant researcher at CIAC / Universidade do Algarve, will lead the session.
Finalist of the prestigious Oceanos Award in 2019, “Eliete” is a novel built around the homonymous protagonist, and it is her world that Dulce Maria Cardoso presents to readers. Being in the middle of life is like being in the middle of a suspension bridge, any breeze in the balance. Eliete's life is halfway through and, as if that were not enough, a gale is approaching. But this is still the time that will be remembered as containing in itself, recognizable, unstoppable, change. Although nobody can handle it. Because everything looks normal. God is absent or in clandestine jobs. From time to time, the Fatherland wakes up in festive eruptions, but it is diluted there. And the family?
This presentation is intended for the general public but, due to the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health, the number of participants is limited.
The session is held within the scope of the readings of the Loulé Reading Club and will have a book stand by the Papelnet bookstore.
