The Erasmus + project «My Story – Our Europe», coordinated by the Professor Paula Nogueira School Group, from Olhão, was distinguished with the «Good Erasmus + School Education 2020» award.
This project started from the concept of "storytelling", the art of telling, developing and adapting stories emotionally involving the interlocutors.
"This methodology allowed us to explore and increase students' creativity and also encourage inclusion practices", says the school group from Olhão.
That was what, throughout the project, was proposed to students from the four countries involved – Portugal, Romania, Turkey and Italy. “That they interpretively and creatively explore stories from their countries and other European countries, making known characters and culturally rich situations”, he explains.
The students joined with “a lot of enthusiasm” the challenge that was launched to explore the European cultural heritage.
Over the two years, they read, selected and created story presentations using different methodologies, such as dramatization and Chinese shadows, animated videos using plasticine and drawing and even electronic books. “All these activities allowed the inclusion of students with less access to contexts of learning and socio-cultural training in an international environment, promoting not only tolerance and cooperation, but also the acquisition and improvement of language skills, constituting added value for all students. who participated in it ”, concludes Professor Paula Nogueira School Group.
