Lacobrigense team needs neighbors to win in the last round of the Portuguese Championship to escape relegation
The Esp. Lagos drew today with Lusitano SAD (2-2), in a game of the 21st and penultimate round of the Portuguese Football Championship, now waiting for the help of Olhanense and Louletano to escape relegation to the districts.
In Évora, Roberto Alberto's team recovered from a two-goal disadvantage to add a very important point in the fight for maintenance in their last game in Serie H against a direct opponent.
Ebuka, in the 15th minute, and Hélio Vaz, in the 18th, put the Alentejo in an advantage, but Ibrahim reduced the difference even before the break (37). In the final stage of the game, striker Marocas was the one to ensure equality (84).
Since, on the last day, the team from Lagos is off, today concluded their participation in the race, while the three direct rivals in the fight for maintenance – besides Lusitano SAD, Juv. Évora and Pinhalnovense, who won today – still have one more opportunity to overtake the Algarve.
Balance before the last round
In the table, Esp. Lagos ranks 6th, with 23 points, the same as Juventude de Évora. Next, both with 22 points, Lus. Évora and, already in the descent position, in the 9th position, Pinhalnovense. In the event of a direct confrontation, the Algarvians have an advantage over the two Alentejo groups.
In the final round, Esperança awaits the help of Olhanense, who receives Lusitano, and Louletano, who travels to Juventude. It is enough until just one of them triumphs for the Lacobrigense group to celebrate the maintenance.
Moncarapachense, who played in this round, remains in 5th place, with 24 points, and, if they win at the reception for Amora in the last round, they guarantee their presence in the phase of access to League 3. Sign of the balance evident in the race: Pinhalnovense, today in a descending position, can still reach 5th position.
Louletano drew with Vit. Setubal
Still in the race for access to Liga 3 – a stage for which they are already qualified, with no definition of which groups they will be inserted in – Olhanense (3rd place, with 34 points) lost in the Pinhalnovense field, with a solitary goal by João Pendão (11), while Louletano, 4th (33), drew at home with the leader Vitória de Setúbal, who today qualified for the phase of rising to the II League. Substitute Hugo Neto scored for the Algarve, at 76, and young Rodrigo Pereira equaled at 90 + 4.
In the 22nd and final round of the first phase, the Algarvians will be involved in the following meetings: Juv. Évora-Louletano, Moncarapachense-Amora and Olhanense-Lusitano SAD.
