The Executive Committee of the Algarve Operational Program (POAlgarve) approved six investment operations by municipalities and institutions to introduce new measures in terms of energy efficiency.
The objective is to “obtain significant savings in terms of energy consumption, reducing the emission of greenhouse gases”, says the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR), which manages the program.
The six investment projects presented by Caritas Diocesana do Algarve, Centro Popular de Lagoa, Intermunicipal Community of Algarve (AMAL) and municipalities of Monchique, Tavira and Vila do Bispo will receive more than half a million euros of European funds from the European Development Fund. Regional Development (ERDF), making possible a global investment of around 1.2 million euros.
With these approvals, the Algarve Operational Program supports a global set of investments worth 8.088 million euros in this field, presented by public institutions in the region, which benefited from a total support of 4.392 million euros from European Union funds.
