Under the Horizon 2020 program, under the responsibility of European Commissioner Carlos Moedas, the European Innovation Council (EIC) will highlight seven Portuguese beneficiaries in four winning projects.
The Portuguese winners are the Iberian International Nanotechnology Laboratory and the FCIENCIAS.ID – Association for Research and Development of Sciences, by the ChipAI project; Biofabics, for research at FishAI; the University of Aveiro, Graphemest and Stemmatters, Biotechnology and Regenerative Medicine, for their work at NeuroStimSpinal; the Institute of Molecular Medicine, for the NOVIRUSES2BRAIN project.
The four research projects comprise a group of 38, with a total value of 124 million euros. The funding is awarded under the FET Open arm of the EIC, which awards emerging and future technologies. The FET Open is today one of the central parts of the EIC. Supports top scientists, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and small businesses with brilliant ideas.
Between 2018 and 2020, the European Innovation Council pilot will provide € 2.7 billion for disruptive innovations creating new markets.
The next deadline for applications ends on January 24, 2019.
