The annual inflation rate in the euro zone is expected to reach 1.7% in April according to the European Union statistical service Eurostat estimates released on Friday. This represents an increase of 0.3% compared to the 1.4% recorded in March.
Looking at the main components of inflation in the euro zone, energy should register the highest annual rate in April with 5.4%, a slight increase from March's 5.3%.
Then, services rose 0.8% to 1.9%, compared to 1.1% in March. Food, alcohol and tobacco fell to 1.5% compared to 1.8% in March and lastly non-energy industrial goods, up slightly by 0.2% from 0.1% verified in the month of March.
