The 2019 edition of FIDANC – International Festival of Contemporary Dance will have the city of Évora as its central stage, from October 30 to November 16.
“Shows, performance, dance videos and educational activities will reveal different identities in contemporary dance,” says the organization, led by CDCE – Évora Contemporary Dance Company.
Consecrated and emerging creators debut in the region their latest creations, and develop a close contact with the public through a set of parallel activities, which enable different audiences, a more participative contact with the creators, and stimulate dialogue with the different languages of contemporary dance.
The poster includes the debut in Portugal of the new creation of Dinis Machado, a co-production with CDCE, the presentation of shows for the general public, childhood and family context, performance, the dance video show of Portuguese and foreign creators in schools, workshops, meetings / conversations with creators participating in the festival.
Training and educational actions based on the creative processes of the shows are foreseen, in order to allow different reading angles of the works presented.
The activities punctually occupy the Black Box, schools of the city and, permanently, different spaces of Teatro Garcia de Resende.
The poster aims to stimulate audiences – children, youth and adults – with artistic and educational proposals that take place in a decentralized manner throughout the Alentejo city.
More information about the event can be obtained from the company's official website.
