"The fighters of the county of Silves in World War I" is an exhibition that will cover all the parishes of the county of Silves.
Organized by the City Council of Silves (CMS), through the Municipal Archive, this exhibition is the result of the survey of all the silvenses that participated in the Great War. These men were part of the Portuguese Expeditionary Corps (CEP) and were mobilized to France.
A list is drawn up, divided by the parishes, showing the name of the combatant, rank and service that he performed, the date of embarkation and disembarkation in Lisbon and observations, how he received praises, whether he was medalist and decorated, whether he was injured, in the Battle of La Lys and still died in combat.
Thus, São Marcos da Serra will be the first parish to host the exhibition, which will run from April 19 to 26 in the Room in front of the Pole of Education Throughout Life.
In the month of May the exhibition will be visible in the Assembly Hall of the Parish Council of Alcantarilha
