F1 in Portimão generated over 13 M € of media return at the weekend


The analysis by Mediamonitor, from the Marktest Group, identified 1,453 news between Friday and Sunday, noting that the online media had the highest volume of news, however it was television that led the media in a prominent way.

The return of Formula 1 to Portugal generated close to 1,500 news items only on the weekend that the Grand Prix took place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão, so according to Mediamonitor's clipping analysis, only between Friday and Sunday, 1,453 news items were identified in national media, with an estimated financial return of € 13.1 million.

Although most of the news was published in online support (956), it was the 318 news and reports carried by the main national television channels that were the source of the largest share of the media return generated by the event: € 10.9 million.

Television was also the medium responsible for the highest volume of GRP’s (48% of the total), with an accumulated record of 538.6%.

On Sunday, the day the test took place, it was when the largest number of news items was identified, with almost half of the total (703).
