Facebook launched Facebook Dating in the United States on Thursday in an attempt to help with what is sometimes not an easy task for many people. The goal is for users to find their better half through common tastes, such as interests and groups, on the social network.
In posting, Facebook says it has created a platform where security, protection and privacy are the watchwords. Therefore, users can report and block anyone, prohibit the submission of photos, links, payments or videos on a network that provides access to security tips. In this way, "control and peace of mind" are assured according to the company, which ensures that all activity remains on Facebook Dating and will not be shared on the social network.
Users in the United States over 18 and with the latest version of the social network will now be able to sign in to Facebook Dating and create a dating profile, which is not linked to their profile. Once this task is accomplished, the user profile is suggested to others who have also joined the new platform, based on preferences, interests and activities performed on the social network.
Therefore, Facebook clarifies that the new platform is not "go ahead" or have to wait for someone to show interest for contact opportunity. "If you're interested in someone, you can comment directly on that profile or tap the" Like "button to let them know," explains the social network.
In addition to being available in the United States, Facebook Dating can be accessed in 19 other countries, notably Brazil, Mexico and Thailand, and according to the social network the platform will be available in Europe in early 2020.
Mark Zuckerberg's company started testing this platform in 2018 and is now finally available.
