Licá's goal in the first half decided the Algarve's triumph, which totaled five games without winning. Beto made his debut and kept the goal to zero.
Farense returned to winning ways, five games later, by beating Boavista, 1-0, thanks to a goal by Licá, in a match of the 24th round of the 1st soccer league, in which the Algarve wasted a penalty and added two balls in the "irons".
With the return to triumphs, the Algarve team jumped from 18th and last place to 15th, above the drop zone, with 22 points.
With the goal occupied by reinforcement Beto, who arrived this week, Farense started better at Estádio do Bessa, with two clear occasions in the first ten minutes.
Goalkeeper Léo Jardim showed himself in this period, by defending a penalty by Ryan Gauld (foul committed on himself), in the 3rd minute, and a header from Pedro Henrique in the “heart” of the area (7).
The Algarve team remained “on top” and, in the 13th minute, Léo Jardim again won a new duel with Ryan Gauld, with a decisive stretch to a dangerous shot from outside the Scotsman's area.
After so much effort, the goal of Farense arrived, after 25 minutes. Played on the right by Tomás Tavares, Bilel crossed and the ball fell to Licá, who dominated and shot low and placed close to the nearest post.
The game fell asleep after the goal and resumed pace at the start of the second half, with a panorama of stopping and responding to Boavista's improvements and opportunities close to both goals.
Beto avoided Ellis' goal with brilliant defense, at 59, and two minutes later Farense had a double chance: Gauld hit the post and, on the rebound, with Léo Jardim out of play, Licá hit the post.
With the minutes ticking by and Boavista trying to keep up the pressure, Farense was sure to defend the advantage, which could even have increased in discounts (Léo Jardim scored the goal for Fabrício), celebrating the achievement of three points after the final whistle.
In the next round of the I League, scheduled for April 3, Jorge Costa will host Sporting de Braga.
