Farense remains 100% victorious since returning to the São Luís Stadium, where this Monday beat Marítimo 2-1, in the closing match of the 9th round of the 1st football league, abandoning the last place the table.
Winger Bilel opened the scoring in the 10th minute: isolated by Ryan Gauld on the left, he overtook goalkeeper Charles with a feint of body and shot to count, in the only goal of a first part that had more maritimista dominion.
In the second half, the Madeirans achieved a tie, by Rodrigo Pinho, at 60, but the equality lasted three minutes: Hugo Seco was fouled in the penalty area and Ryan Gauld converted the respective penalty to 2-1.
Shortly after, Marítimo – with interim coach Milton Mendes on the bench – was reduced to ten units, due to Milson's expulsion, but the Madeiran team did not give up and created the best opportunities until the end. Rafael Defendi was decisive, with two great defenses (78 and 83), to guarantee the Algarve triumph.
Farense jumped from 18th place to 14th place, with eight points, one more than Marítimo and Portimonense, now the last two classified.
In the next matchday, Farense will travel to Sporting, in a game scheduled for December 19, at 20:15 hours.
