The Faro Municipal Council today received a visit from the Mozambican ambassador, who was symbolically given a check of 8,147.55 euros to support the populations affected by Cyclone Idai.
According to a source from the municipality, the money was the product of the ticket office of the concert of Dino d'Santiago, held at the Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, on April 20.
The Mozambican ambassador, Joaquim Bule, was received by the councilor Adriano Guerra and by the chief of staff of the mayor of the city, Henrique Gomes.
Remember, the city of Faro has connections to several Mozambican locations. In addition to twinning with Maxixe, it has maintained, since 2014, a cooperation agreement with Nampula.
Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique in March, killing more than 700 people and affecting hundreds of thousands of Mozambicans.
