The Faro City Council is investing around 227 thousand euros in the replacement work of two of the most used synthetic turfs of the county, on the field of Penha and on the soccer field of 7 of EB 2.3 Dr. José Neves Júnior.
The Penha football field contract was awarded to Sociedade Mondo Portugal for a total value of 144,577 euros.
The goal is to give sports practice higher levels of safety, quality and comfort on a lawn that dates from 2006 and that, “during all these years, has endured intensive use, every day of the week, from morning to night,” he explains. the autarchy.
Likewise, the synthetic grass lawn 7 of EB 2.3 Dr. José Neves Júnior is already underway.
The contract was awarded to Sociedade RED – Relvados e Equipamentos Desportivos, Lda., For 82,678 euros.
This enclosure is used by school students during the day and hosts some local club training at the end of the day.
Under this last contract, work is also underway to improve the fence of this sports venue, as well as the field of Horta da Areia, whose lawn was fully requalified in 2018, in a municipal investment of approximately 100 thousand euros.
“The new lawns substantially reduce the risk of injury by favoring better impact absorption. Another highlight is the better resistance and drainage capacity, characteristics that are expected to ensure greater durability of these lawns in relation to the previous ones ”, emphasizes the municipality.
