The extension of Faro do Curtas de Vila do Conde – 28th International Film Festival kicks off today, Tuesday, 6, with five consecutive days of sessions in the auditorium of the regional directorate of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth.
The program of 17 short films planned for the Algarve, shown in collaboration with the Cineclube de Faro (CCF), with daily sessions at 9:30 pm, corresponds to the national competition, composed exclusively of films premiering nationally and worldwide.
The list of names includes some of the most awarded Portuguese directors in recent years, such as Carlos Conceição, Sandro Aguilar or Cláudia Varejão. "Names that have a recurring presence not only at festivals in the country, but also at international events in Berlin or Rotterdam, among others," says the organization.
It is the first time in the history of Curtas de Vila do Conde that the festival takes place at the same time in more than one city, also passing, in addition to Faro and Vila do Conde, through Porto and Lisbon, with the exhibition of more 260 films.
“This collaboration will serve to inaugurate a new era in the technological training of CCF and in the quality of the offer of its activities, namely a brand new digital projection system and a 7.1 surround sound system, making this auditorium, surely, one of the best movie theaters in the world. Algarve ”, highlighted the Cineclube de Faro.
