The Centro de Tenis e Padel de Faro (CTPF) was crowned yesterday, Tuesday, national champion of senior teams of the 1st Division in tennis, by defeating in the final the Clube de Tenis do Porto, by 3-2.
This national championship took place for five days, at the High Performance Center of the Portuguese Tennis Federation, in Jamor.
After defeating the Clube de Ténis de Oeiras team by 5-0, the Faro team defeated the Clube de Ténis de Foz by the same partial to reach the decisive game.
In the final, against the Porto, in a very balanced match of more than six hours, the Algarve team started by giving up the first match in singles, but won the other two, getting the triumph sealed in one of the matches in pairs.
The Faro team consisted of José Ricardo Nunes (captain), João Graça, Francisco Silvestre, Tiago Pereira, Tiago Cação, Neils Desein, Zapata Moralles, Terence Das and André Nunes.
"Congratulations to the players who gave everything to achieve this maximum title of national tennis", says the CTPF, in a statement.
