Fernando Rodrigues was re-elected last Tuesday, May 28, chairman of the Tavira Sailing Club (CVT) for the 2019-2021 biennium by leading the only list presented to the members.
The new governing bodies – with 33 votes in favor and five in blank, taking office immediately – are members of the former board and other new elements that were already directly linked to the club, in other functions, the CVT said in a statement .
Fernando Rodrigues took the opportunity to thank the municipality of Tavira for all the support given to the club, always showing a great openness to all the initiatives presented by the club, namely Duatlo Cross City of Tavira, Triatlo Cross City of Tavira, National Meeting of Adapted Handball and Tour BTT Sailing Club of Tavira, among others.
The leader of the CVT highlighted the dedication and dedication of the coaches, officials, parents and athletes who allowed the club to have "the recognition of the community in general, continuing an image of a reference club of the municipality of Tavira, which has a strong commitment to the training of young people, not only sports, but also civic ".
The members present at the general assembly had the opportunity to express some of their concerns regarding handball and "the need to leverage" the modality in the club, improving the recruitment and training to "re-position the club as a reference of the Algarve and at national level. "
In the direction, Fernando Rodrigues counts on the vice presidents Alberto Pereira and Cristiano Valente. António Faleiro and Eduardo Mendonça lead the general meeting and the fiscal council, respectively.
