Patrão Pedro Jorge Casimiro Cardoso Lifeboat Station in Ferragudo, Lagoa, received two trainee crew who are attending the lifeboat crew entry course yesterday.
This course takes place in two phases, the first course, from September 13 to December 2, and the second internship phase, which began yesterday and will run until February 29.
The internship follows a nationally defined activity plan and will be put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired, as well as training of boat governance and rescue boats in confined spaces and open sea, night and day navigation, familiarization with the systems. navigation on board vessels, knowledge of the area of jurisdiction and reference points, training in rescue techniques, communication and immobilization of victims, use of oxygen therapy, training of fire fighting equipment of the vessels, among others.
Students will be engaged in all Lifeguard Station activities, tasks and operations, and will be evaluated, while gaining experience with the current four Lifeguard Station crew members Patrão Pedro Jorge Casimiro Cardoso.
