Event aims to raise funds and food for cultural professionals and shows
Faro will receive, on the 8th and 9th of May, the 1st edition of the Festival “Algarve é União”, in an organization with a solidarity cause of União Audiovisual with support from the Municipality of Faro.
Algarve artists, from the most varied areas come together in support of a solidary cause: raising funds and food for this association of a social and cultural nature, supporting technical professionals and cultural artists, shows and events.
The festival also arises with the intention of giving again stage to artists and technicians from the region who, due to the pandemic, have had their professional activity suspended for more than a year, “which put many in a situation of social emergency”, explains the Union Audio-visual.
“It is therefore urgent to unite and help everyone, in order to dignify the work of these professionals, who contribute so much so that everyone can live with access to culture”, adds the association.
Fuza Flowz, Tércio Nanook, Gaveta da Pedra and Kilavra, João Lum, VATe and Teresa Aleixo are some of the projects that embrace this solidarity initiative.
During two days, always from 2 pm, 16 shows spread over two stages in the city, in a program for the whole family, which includes music, theater, poetry, stand-up, dance, among other areas.
The closing of the festival is in charge of a DJ of national renown, in a performance that happens on the 9th of May, at 10:30 pm.
The festival, under the motto «Nobody stays behind», will be held exclusively in live stream format, on the Union Audiovisual's Youtube page.
All food goods and the total amount raised revert entirely to the Audiovisual Union.
