Electronic Arts will open its cloud technology to bring games to fans for free, at least for a period of time. This phase will serve for the company to run some tests and realize the strengths and weaknesses of the system.
In this open version FIFA 19, Titanfall 2, Need for Speed Rivals and Unravel will be available. "Collecting scaled inputs to test performance and quality of service under a variety of network conditions" is, according to EA, the primary purpose of this Cloud Gaming Technical Trial.
The test will be PC focused, but the company wants to give users the ability to play anywhere, anytime and on any device.
Cross play will also be in focus. The system allows players from different platforms to play together. The test also includes some cross save tests.
