On the occasion of World Food Day on October 16, the Food Bank Against Hunger will promote, in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão, the Forum “Fighting Food Waste – a cause for all” that will join in debate, regional entities linked to the theme, NGOs – Non-Governmental Organizations, distribution and food specialists alert to this very current problem on a worldwide scale.
Good practices in combating food waste; the importance of healthy eating; the Refood project; The role of distribution in the prevention of food waste, as well as the position of markets in this fight will be some of the themes in focus in the Forum that has free participation but mandatory registration through the site. The closing session of this Forum that will take place throughout the day in the auditorium of the Museum will be attended by Isabel Jonet, President of the Portuguese Food Bank Federation, as well as the Mayor of Portimão, Isilda Gomes.
