Filipe Albuquerque confirms in Bahrain the conquest of the world title of resistance LMP2


Filipe Albuquerque, a Portuguese driver from Coimbra competing for United Autosports, confirmed today that he won the world endurance title in the LMP2 class, the second most important of the specialty, after finishing the last race of the season, the 8 Hours of Bahrain, in 6th global position.

Teaming up with the British Phil Hanson and Paul di Resta, the Portuguese driver just needed to fulfill the regulatory formality of aligning with the match of the last race of the championship to confirm the title, however he lined up, competed and finished the race in 4th place in the category .

The victory in the race, in the LMP2 class, went to Gabriel Aubri, of Jackie Chan Racing, beating the Portuguese António Félix da Costa (Jota), who teamed with the Mexican Roberto Gonzalez and the British Anthony Davidson.

In the main category, the LMP1, the Argentine José Maria López, the Japanese Kamui Kobayashi and the British Mike Conway, won the race and became world champions.
