The Trem Gallery in Faro will host an unpublished show featuring large black and white photographs of Rocco, the latest photomontage created by filmmaker Hanspeter Ammann in collaboration with Italian photographer Matteo Pezzi.
The inauguration is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, 16 at 6:30 p.m., and it will be open to the public until November 13th.
The initiative, organized as part of the program of the Visual Arts course at the University of Algarve, will also include the European launch of the book "Rocco", as well as a round table moderated by the researcher of the Center for Research in Arts and Communication ) of UAlg, Ana Isabel Soares, in which Hanspeter Ammann, Matteo Pezzi and Mirian Tavares will participate.
Made in Malaysia with local actors, and inspired by Visconti's film "Rocco and his brothers", it is a production that combines European and Asian elements of artistic expression.
"" Rocco "is a work that calls for time, which is made of images that traverse in time, following a logic other than that of the continuous and progressive movement (…). The loving gaze of Visconti and Pasolini is present here – love for the characters, love for their bodies and their imperfection. The camera lurks and admires. The camera gently accompanies each gesture and is recording the movement that continues in each new photo, "says Mirian Tavares, CIAC coordinator.
Taking advantage of the arrival of Hanspeter Ammann to Portugal, a workshop on the creative process of the renowned artist, scheduled for October 19, is also planned, between 14:00 and 18:30, in the Auditorium 1.4 of the Pedagogical Complex, on the campus of Penha .
Participation in the workshop is free, but subject to prior registration, at https://culturaladventures.ciac.pt/choices-registration.
