The Academic yesterday began the week of preparation of the next match, against Estoril, scheduled for next Saturday, at 11H00, at the António Coimbra da Mota Stadium, in Amoreira.
The triumph against Cova da Piedade allowed the students to overcome the "canarinhos" in the leaderboard.
Now with 24 points, Briosa have two more than Estoril, so the next game will be between two direct opponents in the table.
In a competitive championship where surprises happen regularly, statistical data are of little value in anticipation of matches, but the two sets will face each other in very different cycles.
The Académica scored, this Sunday, the fifth consecutive victory in six meetings under the baton of João Carlos Pereira.
Already Estoril comes from five consecutive losses, the last of them in Covilhã, and which marked the debut of Pedro Duarte as coach of the Estorilists.
The former Estoril U23 coach took over after Tiago Fernandes, who had taken over at the start of the season with the goal of moving up.
Same goals, but different paths. Estoril started losing the first two rounds, but then followed an eight-game cycle with seven wins and one defeat in between.
Already the Academic, who entered the season to win, then had a cycle with 10 games and only one victory in the middle.
The defeat with Farense on Matchday 10 marked the departure of César Peixoto and, since then, a virtually faultless course, stained only with the negative debut at Vilafranquense.
