The Beja Football Association suspended the football and futsal events scheduled for the next two weekends, due to the worsening of the situation regarding the covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the association's management said that it decided to suspend sports activities, namely football and futsal events, on the weekends of 9 and 10 and from 16 and 17 January, "due to the worsening of the pandemic situation caused by the covid disease. -19 ".
According to the association, the games scheduled for those two weekends will be "rescheduled for later dates" and that "will be communicated in due course".
The association's management recommends affiliated clubs to suspend training for all their athletes and other activities, including unofficial games, for the next two weekends.
The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 1,884,187 deaths resulting from more than 87.1 million cases of infection worldwide, according to the latest assessment by the French agency AFP.
In Portugal, 7,472 people died from 456,533 confirmed cases of infection, according to the most recent bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health.
