The play "Frei Luís de Sousa", with staging by Miguel Loureiro, rises to the stage of TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão this Saturday, May 11 at 9:30 p.m.
This is the last of the three productions to be presented this semester in Portimão within the scope of the Eunice Network, the project of diffusion of shows produced and coproduced by the National Theater D. Maria II.
From the original text of Almeida Garrett, Miguel Loureiro kept the three acts almost intact, cutting only one sentence or another, and tried not to "exacerbate romantic hysteria" in order to approximate the text of the contemporary public, "in a very demanding work for the actors ", Says the director.
On the stage will be João Grosso (Romeiro), Maria Duarte (Madalena), Álvaro Correia (Manuel, who will become Frei Luis de Sousa when entering the ecclesiastical life), Tónan Quito (Frei Jorge), Ângelo Torres (Telmo) and Carolina Amaral (Maria), in costumes (vintage) by José António Tenente.
Tickets for this classic Portuguese theater cost ten euros for the general public and five euros for students. They are on sale online at Tiempo.bol.pt, at the TEMPO box office, which is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., on show evenings and at BOL's usual places.
