"There is a parade of great personalities, true legends, artists that last and have marked the history of music, each one of its kind and its style," said Mathieu Jaton, director of the event.
Three artists will take the stage on their farewell tours: Briton Elton John (June 29), folk star Joan Baez (July 3) and R & B singer Anita Baker (July 10).
The list of women's voices for the festival also includes Lauryn Hill and a special concert with Lizzo and Janelle Monáe in honor of Prince, inspiration of the two singers.
In 2010, Prince, who had a close relationship with the festival, watched, incognito behind the scenes, at the first concert of Janelle Monáe in Montreux, revealed Jaton.
Jazz greats such as singer Melody Gardot, pianist Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin will also perform in Montreux.
Jaton also announced concerts by 40-year-old Briton Joe Jackson, American Bon Iver and Rag'N'Bone Man.
