From 'Godfather' to 'Megalopolis': Francis Ford Coppola Announces New Movie

Francis Ford Coppola announced he will move forward with one of his dream projects in the cinema, "Megalopolis".

Visibly slimmer, it was the director himself who revealed him to the Deadline a few days after turning 80.

Described as having the epic scale of his "Apocalypse Now" (1979), the story takes place in New York and addresses an architect's attempt to create a utopia in the city, opposed by the mayor.

The project is an old ambition of Coppola, who filmed some exploratory images after announcing it at the Cannes Film Festival, but was suspended after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
