In the edition of April 5, Jornal Económico reported that the Secretary of State for Energy (SEE), João Galamba, since he settled in the building of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Transition (MATE) in October 2018, of a hundred employees entering through the back door and using the elevator (instead of the stairs) to access the workplace. On the same day, Galamba posted an image on Twitter, simulating the forced entry of "employees" (actually members of his office who can enter through the front door and use the stairs) in the elevator and commenting that it was the "only possible reaction to a 'news' without link ".
Galamba's joke fell badly inside the MATE and accentuated the sense of "revolt" of the officials. The JE confirmed that the ban on using the stairs remains until today, even after the news is published. It should be recalled that Galamba's cabinet ensured that the ban would have been in force only during "the works" until November. But several officials and a trade union official say that "this is a lie".
