The overall average occupancy rate in September 2018 was 91.1%, up 2.9% from the same month last year, the Algarve Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises (AHETA) revealed today.
According to provisional data on the occupation of the Algarve housing units, the increase was mainly due to the national (+ 12.2%) and the French (+ 26.7%) markets.
The markets with the largest declines were Dutch (-21.0%), Irish (-6.8%) and British (-3.9%).
Sales volume increased by 1.1% year-on-year.
According to AHETA, since the beginning of the year, the fourth occupancy rate has dropped by 0.9% and business volume increased by 2.9%.
