Google trained more than 35 thousand Portuguese in 2020, through Atelier Digital, this Wednesday announced the technology, which launched two new free online courses in the Portuguese market for those looking for work.
In September, Google Portugal and the Government signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at economic recovery and accelerating the digital transition, in which digital skills and employability are the main areas foreseen in the document.
Among the commitments assumed was the objective of "training 32,000 Portuguese in digital skills [até final do ano], that is 10,000 more than in 2019 ", according to the statement at the time.
Google announced this Wednesday "that it managed to reach that number and, between 'online' courses and 'webinars' in partnership with the Coordinating Council of the Higher Polytechnic Institutes, more than 35,000 Portuguese were trained in 2020".
The memorandum, which also includes courses such as the Android Training Program, search for jobs in the search engine, among others, "reinforced Google's support for Portugal's digital transition, with a focus on digital skills, employability, 'startups' and artificial intelligence, and establishes a series of programs to develop a rapid acceleration in the technological adoption currently underway and that are priorities of the Portuguese Government ", says the technological.
