The government signed an order on Friday prohibiting burning and burning of leftovers from Saturday to Tuesday in the districts of Beja, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Évora, Faro, Guarda, Lisbon, Portalegre, Santarém and Setúbal.
This joint decision by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Eduardo Cabrita, and the Secretary of State for Forestry and Rural Development, Miguel Freitas, follows the weather forecasts that give the continent temperatures above 30º from Saturday and high risk of fire.
In a note, the Government points out that this decision results from information from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) on the exacerbation of the fire risk for the entire territory of the continent.
It also follows from the notice to the population of the National Authority of Emergency and Civil Protection (ANPC) about the danger of rural fire, of the technical-operational communiqué of the ANPC that determines the passage to the Special Yellow Alert State of the Special Device to Combat Rural Fires in districts of Beja, Évora and Faro.
