Government meets emergency as of 10 o'clock – The Economic Journal

Full count of teachers' time of service was approved - The Jornal Econômico

The Government will meet in emergency on the morning of this Friday, May 3. On top of the table will be the approval of the full-time recovery of teachers' service, approved on Thursday, and its negative impact of 635 million euros on public accounts, in Mário Centeno's accounts. The measure was approved by a "negative coalition" formed by the PSD, CDS, Bloque de Esquerda and PCP.

The meeting will take place in São Bento and will count on the presence of the Prime Minister and the "hard core" of the Government, including the Minister of Planning and Infrastructure Pedro Nuno Santos. The meeting will start at 10 o'clock, the Economic Newspaper reported from a government source.

The meeting will also be attended by Finance Ministers, Mário Centeno, Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, Labor, Vieira da Silva, Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, as well as the Secretary of State of Parliamentary Affairs, Duarte Cordeiro, according to the Diário de Notícias.

The full recovery of teachers' time was approved on Thursday in the Parliamentary Commission on Education and Science. The final diploma that will enshrine the recovery of the nine years, four months and two days required for teachers will be approved until May 15. The current count provides for the return of two years, nine months and 18 days.

According to the DN, the prime minister considers that the approval of the integral time "is very serious". A source close to António Costa says that "all options are open".

The prime minister counts on the President of the Republic to veto the diploma approved in the voting in the specialty.

In turn, the president of the PS opened the door to a resignation of the Government after the approval of this measure.

"It is legitimate to think that the PS can not assume responsibilities of government when it understands that the policies that are forced make this management unsustainable," said Carlos César, in statements to the newspaper Público.
