The Government reinforced the support line for the treasury of micro and small tourism companies by 20 million euros, now having a budget of 120 million euros, announced the Ministry of Economy, in a statement.
Thus, according to an order from the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Marques, of February 19, “the Support Line for the Treasury of Micro and Small Tourism Companies has been reinforced by 20 million euros, now moving to a budgetary allocation total of 120 million euros ”, reads the same note.
In addition, “an additional value of 250 euros per company was set, in addition to the value of the performance bonus, for companies that adhere to the Clean & Safe Seal and attend at least one of the respective training actions in 2021”, stressed the guardianship.
The Ministry of Economy also indicated that the changes also include “the application of a moratorium for the beginning of the repayments, passing them to June 30, 2022”.
This line, managed by Turismo de Portugal and created as a support mechanism for the treasury of tourism companies in the context of the pandemic of covid-19, “counts, so far, 10,368 applications and an approved financing of 92.8 million euros” , recalled the guardianship.
With this line, “micro and small companies in the sector can access financial support corresponding to 750 euros per job / month, for a period of three months, up to a maximum of 20 thousand euros in the case of micro companies and 30 thousand euros for small companies ", being that" in both situations, 20% of those amounts can be converted into non-refundable funds ", recalled the Government.
On January 12, Turismo de Portugal (TP) announced that it had launched a new line of support for the qualification of the offer, with an allocation of 300 million euros, after, on the previous day, the support for the treasury of EUR 100 million.
In a statement, TP explained that the support line for qualification "is intended to support the investment effort of tourism companies, particularly with regard to the requalification of the respective enterprises and establishments, with a view to adapting and preparing the tourist offer. , looking ahead to the sector's recovery process ".
In the same note, the entity stated that this instrument "is aimed at all tourism companies", and has "a focus on the development of sustainable and inclusive projects", reinforcing "the aid intensity, by increasing the component of lost fund that companies can access as a performance bonus ".
The support line has a "partnership between Turismo de Portugal and 12 credit institutions (Abanca, Bankinter, BPI, BPG, CCAM, CGD, Eurobic, Millennium BCP, Montepio, Novo Banco, Novo Banco dos Açores and Santander), under which the funding to be granted is shared between the institute and one of those credit institutions ", according to the same note.
