Galp donated to the Group of Schools in Alcoutim three dozen computers, which support the 175 students who attend the Integrated Basic School of Alcoutim and the Basic School Prof. Joaquim Moreira.
With the return of distance learning, Galp and the Galp Foundation reinforced the computer supply program, delivering 1300 pieces of equipment in the space of one year.
Altogether, since the beginning of the pandemic, 700 computers have been donated to more than 20 school groups and 600 computers to the children of energy employees.
Offers to the school community, which favor schools located in the interior of Portugal, are made in coordination with Student Keep, the solidarity platform for collecting computer equipment and subsequent donation to students, created at the beginning of the pandemic.
"It is essential to ensure that students with less resources can continue teaching activities, now at a distance," says the company.
In addition to computers, the energy company also advanced with the offer of monitors and other devices that allow the monitoring of virtual classes.
“Education moves the world and it is therefore essential to encourage children and young people to continue their studies even in an unprecedented and extremely challenging context. For adaptation to this reality to be possible, the availability of computers is essential ”, considers Galp.
