The Spaniard Guillermo Garay (Union WCC) dominated the double round of the Portuguese Cup of BMX Race, which inaugurated, last weekend, the new BMX track in Portimão.

The Spanish rider was the best in the races on Saturday and Sunday in the category of men over 19 years.

On Saturday, the main opposition was Hugo Martins (Team BMX Quarteira), while the 2nd placed on Sunday was Jaime Airosa (BMX Eagles of S. Gabriel Bike Point).

When six of the ten qualifying rounds for the Portuguese Cup are played, Hugo Martins is at the top of the ranking with 63 points, one more than Jaime Airosa. The 3rd, with 47 points, is Carlos Rosado (Clube Bicross de Portimão).

Jéssica Conceição (Bicross Nucleus of Setúbal / Knowledge Inside) won the two rounds among women over 15 years old, thus taking the general command of the Cup, with 34 points. Catarina Veríssimo (Team BMX Quarteira) is the 2nd overall, with the same points as the first one.

Gabriel Teixeira (Team BMX Quarteira) won the two races this weekend in the junior category, but the top of the Portuguese Cup continues to be handed over to André Ribeiro (Bicross Nucleus of Setúbal / Knowledge Inside).

Cadet Renato Silva (Team BMX Quarteira) has won the six stages of the Portuguese Cup already held and dominates the overall standings.

The accounts are much more divided into juveniles. On Saturday, Bernardo Rocha (Bicross Nucleus of Setúbal / Knowledge Inside) was crowned, on Sunday he triumphed in Edi Barradas (Bicross Nucleus of Setúbal / Knowledge Inside), but it is Dmitriy Popyk (Team BMX Quarteira) that leads the "ranking" .

Cycling has been a modality present in the programming of Portimão – European City of Sport.

After the road, with the departure of the Tour of the Algarve and with the accomplishment of the first two races of the National Trophy of Hopes, the BMX arrived.

On July 7, it will be the turn of the National Championship of this Olympic cycling discipline.
