The guitarist Rui Mourinho is the first guest of the cycle "Musical Dialogues", a set of three concerts of chamber music that will take place in the foyer of the Theater of the Figures.
This new cultural bet is the result of a partnership between the Orquestra Clássica do Sul and the Municipal Theater of Faro and proposes a series of "musical dialogues": between artists, between musicians and public, but also between different chamber formations and covering different styles.
The first concert takes place on June 13 and is invited by a musician of an instrument that, in a classical formation, is not part of an orchestra – the guitar.
Rui Mourinho will explore the possibilities of classical guitar in the classical world, with works by composers such as F. Tárrega, J. Turina or J. Rodrigo.
Accompanied by a string quartet of the Classical Orchestra of the South, notably by Alma Ramirez and Emil Chitakov (violins), Ângela Silva (viola) and Mikhail Shumov (cello), Rui Mourinho will also perform some solo works.
With more than two decades dedicated to music, the Algarve guitarist is currently a guitar teacher in several schools and develops a parallel activity as soloist. In 2016 he released his first solo album, "Stephen Goss Guitar Works Vol. 1".
The first moment of the "Musical Dialogues" cycle will take place on Thursday, 13, Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro.
Tickets have the unit value of 7 euros and can be purchased at the theater ticket office or booked through the phone 289888110.
