The Hit the Rumo program will return in September and applications are open from May 20 to June 17, and can be made through the official program page. There are 25 vacancies available, aimed at professionals who are looking to change their course and enter the area of information technologies.
The training program developed in partnership by Critical Software and the University of Coimbra consists of about three quarters of teaching, taught by the Department of Computer Engineering of the University of Coimbra, followed by a 12-month paid internship in one of several partner companies , such as Present Technology, Everys or AIRC, among others.
Paula Gomes da Costa of Critical Software believes that "the shortage of specialized resources in information technology is a problem that affects several markets and Portugal also faces this challenge. It is estimated that by 2020 there will be 15,000 unfilled jobs in the country. " In this sense, Paula Gomes da Costa adds that "the Acertar o Rumo program aims to help respond to this need of companies and to give new opportunities to professionals from other areas."
This will be the 7th edition of the initiative, which has 150 professionals trained in previous editions. Candidates with completed undergraduate degrees (at least undergraduate degree) can apply, regardless of the area of training, knowledge of Information Technologies in the user's perspective and knowledge of English.
