The sale of houses in Portugal (Continental) increased 11% in June compared to May, being the second consecutive month since the beginning of the pandemic that the transactional activity of the residential market grows, according to data obtained by Confidencial Imobiliário (CI).
With this new positive monthly balance, the market regained ground compared to the pre-Covid period (January), with sales now 35% below that moment, however, it should be remembered that in April, the sale of houses in the country showed a 53% drop compared to pre-Covid, recovered in May and now again in June.
With regard to prices, these also showed a positive behavior in June, confirming the trend of stability felt since the beginning of the pandemic, in March, so in June, the sale price of houses in Portugal rose 0.8% compared to May , keeping the record of the last three months, with chain variations between 0.4% and 0.9%.
It should be noted that in year-on-year terms, the sales price rose 13.8% in June.
It should be noted that the data are calculated by CI within the scope of the Housing Sales Volume Index, in the case of transactional activity, and within the scope of the Residential Price Index, with regard to price behavior.
