“If you drink, make smart decisions. Don't drive. ”The GNR Campaign - South Africa

Next weekend there will be awareness campaigns in the Algarve

Republican National Guard (GNR), today, August 8, participates in the launch of the Road Safety Campaign “If you drink, make smart decisions. Do not drive. ”, of the initiative of the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) and which also involves the Public Safety Police (PSP) and the National Association of Spirit Drinks Companies (ANEBE), with the project 100% Cool.

This campaign aims to make drivers, especially young people, aware of the dangers associated with drunk driving by calling for smart decisions after drinking, including alternative transport solutions.

The campaign includes awareness-raising actions that will take place in the Algarve next weekend, and is part of a set of actions to combat accidents promoted by the ANSR and the Security Forces, in places of higher risk and loss, which are in the National Strategic Road Safety Plan – PENSE 2020, which aims to “Make Road Safety a priority for all Portuguese”.

Safe behaviors to save lives

This joint initiative aims, in an articulated way, to foster a culture of road safety for young adults, contributing to the change of behavior in the new generations, with a view to reducing road accidents in Portugal.

The fight against road accidents is a national purpose and a responsibility of all actors in the road system and begins in each of us. Accidents can be prevented if we all comply with the Road Code and traffic rules.
